Abstract:
Provided are a rubber composition and a tire with which comprehensive performance, including the water wet-grip performance and dry-grip performance, can be improved. The rubber composition has a hardness that is changed reversibly by water, satisfies formulas (1) and (2), and has a rupture stress of 8.0 MPa or greater.
Formula (1): Hardness when dry – hardness when wet with water ≥ 1
(In the formula, the hardness is a JIS-A hardness of a rubber composition at 25°C.)
Formula (2): 0.90 ≤ Volume when wet with water/volume when dry ≤ 1.01
(In the formula, the volume is the volume of a rubber composition at 25°C)
