Abstract:
Provided are: a rubber composition that is a crosslinked product having an improved tensile strength; and a pneumatic tire using the rubber composition at a portion thereof. This rubber composition contains a solid rubber (A), a hydrogenated aromatic vinyl-conjugated diene random copolymer (B), and a filler (C), wherein the random copolymer (B) satisfies (i)-(iv). (i) The contained amount of the aromatic vinyl unit is 10-70 mass%; (ii) the vinyl content of the conjugated diene unit of the random copolymer (B) before hydrogenation is 10-70 mol%; (iii) the hydrogenation rate of the conjugated diene unit is 10 mol% or more; and (iv) the weight-average molecular weight thereof is 3,000-100,000.
