Abstract:

The present invention provides a rubber member which when used in a rubber article such as a tire can improve the performance of the rubber article on ice. A first rubber member is characterized: by having a water thickening material; in that a plurality of micro concave parts are present on the surface of the rubber member; in that the water thickening material is disposed on the inner surface of the micro concave parts; and in that the average coating ratio of the water thickening material on the inner surface of the micro concave parts is at least 10%. Here, the water thickening material is defined as a material having a viscosity of at least 20 Pa∙s when an aqueous dispersion is prepared such that the concentration of the water thickening material is 23% by mass, said viscosity being measured by a cone and plate viscometer at a shear rate of 0.01/s-0.1/s with the aqueous dispersion at 25°C.
