The Jacquard-type rugs are characterized by the fact of being obtained through the individual evolution of several threads in several colors fixed by the interlacingof the warp thread with the woven thread performed in a loom.
As it is well known, rugs frequently cause the fall of persons, either by slips or stumbles in the waves formed by such rugs as they skid easily on the floor, as it usually also occurs with the Jacquard-type rugs.
Several attempts have being carried out to eliminate these inconvenients, such as the application of blankets made of plastic materials or perforated rubber blades between rug and floor. Such solutions are not reliable and, mainly because of the partial displacement of the rug over such materials, this recreate the need for frequently stretching out the rug to its normal position.
Attempting to eliminate these inconvenients, the invention herein bestows new enhancements, which radically eliminates the problems pointed out.
The general scope of the invention consists in the application of elastomeric rubber strings or similar, conveniently spaced, on the surface underneath the Jacquard- type rug, forming free grooves, which allow for air circulation between such strings.
For better understanding and comprehension regarding this novelty, the appended drawings illustrate it by example and not in a restricted manner, in such way that: Figure 1-shows the schematic and partial, plan and sectional views, of the corner of a rug with short dimensions; and
Figure 2-still schematically, shows a partial view of a larger area of the rug provided with a contouring fringe.
According to the drawings attached and in their details, Jacquard-type nonskid rugs (1), provided or not with sewed edges (2), as fringes bearers (3), receive on the underneath surface a plurality of parallel rubber strings (4) or similar, applied directly to the woven fabrics, such strings being spaced (5) between themselves.
With such enhancements, the Jacquard type rugs of any dimensions acquire an uniform adherence against the floor caused by the grooves between the strings (5). With such enhancement, there is a continuous circulation of the air under the rug when supporting the persons walking on it.
With this, the rug lasts longer and the occurrence of humidity by any reason and, consequently, the occurrence of moulds and fungus are avoided.
