Abstract:

A run-flat tire having in each side section (6) thereof a side reinforcement rubber layer (7) with a crescent-like cross-section, a radial carcass (3) constructed from one or more carcass plies, and a reinforcement bead layer (8) in a region A present from a belt end up to a maximum width section of the tire side section and in at least a part of a region B present from the vicinity of a bead core up to a bead filler. A cord for forming the carcass plies and a cord for forming the reinforcement cord layer (8) are formed from polyketone fiber satisfying the expressions of σ ≥ -0.01 Œ E + 1.2...(I) and σ ≥ 0.02...(II), where σ is thermal contraction stress (cN/dtex) at 177˚C and E is the modulus of elasticity (cN/dtex) at a 49 N load at 25˚C.
