Abstract:
Provided is a parallel two-wheeled vehicle comprising brake means for braking
the two wheels directly. Further comprised are a body (1), a pair of drive units
(2A, 2B) mounted coaxially on the body (1), a T-shaped handle (3) to be gripped
by a driver, a device (4) for detecting the longitudinal inclination of the body
(1), and a brake lever (5). Further comprised is a brake detecting device (6)
for detecting the operational information of the brake lever (5). The body (1)
includes a vehicle speed detecting device (7) for determining a vehicle speed
from a relative angular velocity, as detected by the drive units (2A, 2B), between
the body and the wheels, a target speed setting device (8) for setting a target
vehicle speed from the outputs of the brake detecting device (6) and the vehicle
speed detecting device (7), and a stabilization control device (9) for controlling
the vehicle to follow the target angle, the target angular velocity and the target
vehicle speed stably. Powder brakes (10A, 10B) are mounted in the drive units
(2A, 2B), respectively.
