Abstract:
A ruthenium complex according to one aspect of the present disclosure is represented by general formula (1). In general formula (1), R1 represents a hydrogen atom, a phenyl group, or a monovalent substituent which is obtained by substituting at least one hydrogen atom in a phenyl group with an alkyl group, a hydroxy group, a phenyl group, a halogen atom or an alkoxy group; R2 represents a hydrogen atom, a phenyl group or an alkyl group; each of R3 and R4 independently represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group or an aryl group; L1 represents triphenyl phosphine, pyridine, imidazole, dimethyl sulfoxide or water; X represents a monovalent group that is obtained by removing a hydrogen atom from a carboxyl group of a carboxylic acid; X- represents an anion of the carboxylic acid; and n represents 1 or 2.
