Abstract:
A saddle-type electric vehicle such as a two-wheeled electric vehicle (1), wherein the shaft (32) of a electric drive motor (30) extends in the left/right direction, and when a transmission (40) is connected to one end thereof, both the left and right sides of a transmission-containing section (54) of a motor-unit case (51) are fastened to the frame of the vehicle and said transmission-containing section (54) is joined to either the left or right side of a motor-containing section (53) in accordance with the side of the motor shaft to which the transmission is connected. This makes it possible to minimize misalignment of the bearing (33) for the motor shaft (32) due to warpage of the motor-unit case (51) while keeping the weight of the motor-unit case as low as possible.
