Abstract:
A saddle-type vehicle (10) in which an exhaust pipe is passed through a position higher than a footrest where a foot of a rider rests and extends toward the rear comprises: an engine (38); a step (34) where the foot of the rider rests, the step (34) being disposed more toward the rear with respect to the direction of travel of the vehicle than an exhaust port (39a) of the engine (38); an exhaust pipe (42) that is connected to the exhaust port (39a) and that is disposed extending toward the rear with respect to the direction of travel of the vehicle and passing above the step (34); and a catalyst accommodation unit (48) disposed partway along the exhaust pipe (42), forward from the step (34) with respect to the direction of travel of the vehicle. The exhaust pipe (42) has a catalyst downstream pipe portion (42b) on the downstream side from the catalyst accommodation unit (48), and an inner-side heat guard (56) disposed covering the exhaust pipe (42) from an inner side with respect to the vehicle-width direction is provided in the catalyst downstream pipe portion (42b).
