Abstract:
An automatic revolving door opening and closing in both the left and right directions and having a large opening width has a revolving door body (3) which is safely stopped before an obstacle (11). Received-side wall doors (1) and entry preventing-side doors (10) are provided so as to be in internal contact with (or in external contact with) opposite side walls (2). Side doors (4) having a width greater than a stopping distance and extending in the direction of rotation of outer ends of a revolving door body (3) are arranged on the outer ends. When the revolving door is closed and the width of the opening of the door reaches a level dangerous for a person to enter the door, the side doors (4) of the revolving door body (3) are revolved and the entry preventing-side doors (10) are closed in the direction opposite the direction of the rotation, thereby closing the door from both the left and right directions. When an obstacle (11) is detected in the process of the closure of the door, the side doors (4) and the entry preventing-side doors (10) are made to be freely movable or are opened by an urging means and, at the same time, revolution of the revolving door body (3) is stopped. Alternatively, the received-side wall doors (1) are revolved ahead of the revolving door body (3) by a distance equal to or greater than the stopping distance. When an obstacle (11) is detected in the process of the closure of the door, the received-side wall doors (1) and the entry preventing-side doors (10) are made to be freely movable or are opened by an urging means and, at the same time, revolution of the revolving door body (3) is stopped.
