Abstract:
A safety device against overturning of a crawler crane having a frame equipped with four or more outriggers. The safety device comprises a load detector (2) for detecting the ground reaction of each outrigger, and an alarm output section (4) for calculating the sum of ground reactions detected from two adjacent outriggers and determining the minimum value thereof, comparing the minimum value with preset preliminary reference level and a limit reference level, delivering a preliminary alarm signal if the minimum value is lower than the preliminary reference level and delivering a limit alarm signal if the minimum value is lower than the limit reference level. Safety is prevented from lowering due to variation in the working radius of the crane and operational processing is simplified.
