Abstract:
A safety device (3) of a handrail belt (2) for use in an escalator (1). The safety device comprises a housing (4), wherein a cleaning device is accommodated in the housing; the handrail belt moves through a cleaning space formed by the housing, and the surface of a handrail of the handrail belt is cleaned by the cleaning device; and a handrail belt opening (5) is formed on the housing. The safety device further comprises a foreign-matter anti-clamping device (6) arranged at the handrail belt opening, and the foreign-matter anti-clamping device is configured to be triggered when a foreign matter enters the housing from the handrail belt opening. Further provided in the present invention is an escalator which comprises the safety device. The foreign-matter anti-clamping device can prevent foreign matters from entering, and can also prevent, for example, a passenger's hand from getting stuck.
