Abstract:
A light projector (30) outputs laser light (L30) so as to pass between a punch mold (14) and a die mold (24). A light receiver (41) has a light detector and discriminates between a light receiving state and a light shielded state for the laser light (L30). When an upper table (10) is being lowered: during a period wherein the conditions of a first distance between the tip of the punch mold (14) and the upper end of material (W) being greater than or equal to a second distance between the tip of the punch mold (14) and the light detector are satisfied, a safety control unit (42) performs control so as to stop the lowering of the upper table (10) if the light receiver (41) determines a light shielded state; and during a period wherein the conditions of the first distance being less than the second distance are satisfied, the safety control unit (42) performs control so as to continue the lowering of the upper table (10) without stopping even if the light receiver (41) determines the light shielded state.
