Abstract:

A safety device for vehicles, arranged in the vicinity of an air conditioner mounted on a vehicle, and having a function of discharging to the outside the leaking carbon dioxide when leakage of carbon dioxide is detected. When leakage of carbon dioxide is detected by a carbon dioxide leakage detecting means, a drive means actuates a ventilating means arranged in a duct providing communication between a bottom portion in a compartment and an outside of the compartment, so that carbon dioxide stagnating on the bottom portion in the compartment can be exhausted outside the compartment.
