Abstract:
A safety dispensing system for dispensing the fluid contents of a container (36) includes a fastener (40) attached to the container for fastening a seal (42) to an opening (38) formed in the container, a closure attached to the container for closing the opening formed in the container, wherein said closure (46) is substantially vertically displaceable above the container, said closure including, a sealable cap (64) attached to said closure for readily accessing the opening formed in the container, and a tubular piercer (50) attached to said closure such that rotational displacement of said closure results in a complimentary displacement of said tubular piercer and piercing of said seal, thereby facilitating flow of the material contained in the container.
