Abstract:
A safety helmet (1) comprising a crown (2) formed from a semi-cylindrical circumferential surface part (4) and a pair of end surface parts (6) that are located at opposite ends of the circumferential surface part (4) in the cylindrical axis direction and are linked via ridge parts, wherein: the circumferential surface part (4) is formed from a pair of upper quadrilateral panels (7) and a pair of lower quadrilateral panels (8); each of the end surface parts (6) is formed from a pair of upper tapered panels (9) and a pair of lower tapered panels (10); the ridge part that passes between the pair of upper quadrilateral panels (7) and between the pair of upper tapered panels (9) of both end surface parts (6) constitutes a valley-fold ridge part (11); the ridge parts that each pass between an upper quadrilateral panel (7) and a lower quadrilateral panel (8) and between an upper tapered panel (9) and a lower tapered panel (10) of each of the end surfaces (6) constitute mountain-fold ridge parts (12); the upper quadrilateral panels (7), the lower quadrilateral panels (8), the upper tapered panels (9), and the lower tapered panels (10) all have a shock-absorbing material (14); and the ridge parts do not have the shock-absorbing material (14).
