A safety inspection device, comprising: a portal frame comprising a cross arm (1) located at the top and two vertical arms (2) located at both sides of the cross arm (1) and connected to the cross arm (1), and an area enclosed by the cross arm (1) and the two vertical arms (2) constituting a detection channel; rotary support devices (22) respectively connected to the upper ends of the two vertical arms (2) for supporting the cross arm (1) and configured to rotate the two vertical arms (2) about the vertical axes thereof respectively by means of its rotational motion; and a radiation imaging-based object detection component (3) at least partially provided in the portal frame and configured to detect objects passing through the portal frame, wherein the cross arm (1) comprises a telescopic device (11) that can change the length of the cross arm (1) by means of its telescopic motion.
