Abstract:
A safety restraint device and system are provided for establishing a fall arresting system for steel frame workers. The base unit of the devices can be rapidly attached to vertical steel I-beams (30) by having a clamp (16, 18) for attachment to the beams. The base unit also has a mounting bracket to which a cable support accessory, for example, can be rapidly attached. The cable can then be extended and attached to similar devices on adjacent beams. Other accessories can also be used to provide temporary handrails, platforms and the like which are supported by the base units of the devices. A rapidly deployable system which provides improved worker safety is provided.
