A safety road pillar based on weight block buffering comprises a weight block (1), a steel wire rope (3), a buffering corner mechanism (4), a first support (5), a transverse supporting bar (6), bent pillars (7), a steel wire splitting plate (31), and a guide pillar (36). Four bent pillars (7) are sequentially mounted on the transverse supporting bar (6) between the first support (5) and a second support (9) at equal distance intervals. The steel wire rope (3) penetrates through steel wire holes (11) in the four bent pillars (7), and the tail end of the steel wire rope (3) is fixedly mounted on the steel wire splitting plate (31). The weight block (1) is mounted below the steel wire splitting plate (31) by means of three pull wires (32). When an automobile collides with the bent pillars (7), the transverse supporting bar (6) is released from the first support (5) and the second support (9) if the automobile speed is very high; the steel wire rope (3) pulls up the weight block (1), and a buffering spring (23) in the buffering corner mechanism (4) is compressed. When the automobile collides with the road pillar, the matching between the weight block and the buffering corner mechanism can generate an effective buffering effect, and the damage degree of the vehicle is alleviated.
