Title:
SALMONELLA AND SHEET-TYPE M CELLS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2015/025638
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a detoxified salmonella capable of potentiating a protein that is required for function enhancement in M cells (microfold cells), sheet-type M cells wherein the protein required for function enhancement of M cells has been potentiated by the detoxified salmonella, and an artificial micro organ into which the sheet-type M cells has been introduced. [Solution] A salmonella capable of invading into M cells, said salmonella being detoxified Salmonella (Ty21a) derived, via mutation, from Salmonella (Ty2). This detoxified Salmonella (Ty21a) further carries a gene producing galectin-9 that is capable of enhancing the function of M cells, said gene having been introduced by genetic recombination. Therefore, galectin-9 in the M cells is thus potentiated and, in its turn, enhances the function of the M cells. The detoxified Salmonella (Ty21a) having invaded into the M cells disappears with the passage of time.
