Abstract:
A sample collection device (1) is provided with a sample collection chip (2) which has at a tip thereof a suction port (3) for sucking a sample and has thereinside a flow path (4) for holding the sample sucked through the suction port (3), wherein the sample collection chip (2) is configured to be broken through bending at a prescribed breaking position and divided into a plurality of pieces in order to separate and take out a part of the flow path (4) from the remaining part, and a protective layer (24) for preventing scattering of the sample from divided surfaces (26) of the flow path (4) exposed to a broken surface of the sample collection chip (2) is provided so as to cover the breaking position of the sample collection chip (2).
