Abstract:
Provided are a sample holder for electrochemical charge-type hydrogen permeation detection that uses an electrolyte solution, and a hydrogen permeation diffusion path observation device that measures hydrogen ions permeating a sample held in the sample holder. The sample holder 30 comprises: a holder body 31 that holds a sample 17; an electrolyte solution introduction chamber 31b having an opening 31c that opens to a measurement region 17a of the sample; a retaining plate 33 that has a through-hole 33a corresponding to the measurement region and airtightly sandwiches the sample with the older body by pressing down on the sample from an electron source side at the circumference of the through-hole; a twofold sealing member 32 disposed between the sample and a surface of the holder body so as to enclose the perimeter of the measurement region of the sample; a differential exhaust pipe 35 that opens into the area between the two portions of the sealing member on the surface of the holder body and discharges gas through the opening; and an electrode 19 configured from a bias application electrode 19a for electrolysis and an opposing electrode 36. The retaining plate is formed from a conductive material as a bias application electrode, the opposing electrode is disposed in the electrolyte solution introduction chamber, an electrolyte solution 34 is subjected to electrolysis by applying a voltage between the bias application electrode and the opposing electrode, and hydrogen ions that are produced are introduced into the sample.
