Abstract:
A piston ring inspection device, comprising a sensor unit (27) having a light flooding system (27a) for flooding slit light to the outer peripheral surface (Ps) of a piston (P) and the outer peripheral surface (2c) of a piston ring (2) and a light receiving image system (27b) for receiving reflected light from the outer peripheral surfaces to form images, an image calculation means for digitalizing image information provided from the sensor unit and calculating the inclination angle of the outer peripheral surface of the piston ring relative to the outer peripheral surface of the piston, and a controller (30) having a determination means to determine based on calculation information provided by the image calculation means and pre-set reference information whether the piston ring is installed in a specified direction or not, whereby the piston ring can be accurately inspected by a simple analysis in a short time without requiring scanning.
