Title:
SAMPLE STRING TRANSFORMATION DEVICE, SIGNAL ENCODING DEVICE, SIGNAL DECODING DEVICE, SAMPLE STRING TRANSFORMATION METHOD, SIGNAL ENCODING METHOD, SIGNAL DECODING METHOD, AND PROGRAM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/052004
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention improves the performance of processes for encoding and decoding audio signals. A representative value calculation unit 110 calculates, from the sample string of a frequency region signal that corresponds to an input acoustic signal in each prescribed time interval, the representative value of each frequency interval from the sample value of a sample included in each of the frequency intervals, each of the frequency intervals being derived from a plurality of samples that are fewer in number than the number of frequency samples of the sample string of the frequency range signal. In each of the prescribed time intervals, a signal companding unit 120 acquires, as the sample string of a weighted frequency region signal, a frequency region sample string obtained by multiplying a weight that corresponds to the function value of a representative value derived from a companding function with which an inverse function can be defined, and each of the samples in the frequency region sample string that correspond to the representative value.
