Abstract:
Provided is a sandwich panel that is lightweight and can be manufactured inexpensively, that has a failure mode in which failure occurs gradually rather than all at once near the failure point, and that makes it possible to reduce cracks generated in the fiber direction of a unidirectional fiber material during machining. A sandwich panel provided with skin layers (2) on the upper and lower surfaces of a core (1), wherein the skin layers (2) are obtained by laminating a unidirectional fiber-reinforced resin material (3,4) comprising a matrix resin and a unidirectional fiber material in which carbon fiber bundles (A) and glass fiber bundles (B) are aligned, and a woven fiber-reinforced resin material (5,6) comprising a woven fiber material and a matrix resin. Intermingled parts (C) in which the nap of the carbon fiber bundles (A) and glass fiber bundles (B) intermingle, or unitary parts where only the nap of the carbon fiber bundles (A) is present, are provided in the longitudinal direction of each fiber bundle between adjacent carbon fiber bundles (A) and glass fiber bundles (B) in the unidirectional fiber-reinforced resin material (3,4).
