Abstract:

Provided are: an EVOH resin composition which can exhibit excellent gas barrier performance after being subjected to a hot water treatment and rarely generates blisters even when allowed to be left under high-temperature and high-humidity conditions; and a multilayer structure in which the composition is used as a gas barrier layer. To an EVOH resin was added a hydrate-forming alkaline earth metal salt having a predetermined water absorption property, particularly a completely dehydrated product of an alkaline earth metal salt of one acid selected from the group consisting of lactic acid, silicic acid, phosphoric acid and citric acid, a partially dehydrated product of the alkaline earth metal salt which has a water content of 50% by weight or less or a mixture of the completely dehydrated product and the partially dehydrated product.
