Abstract:
A saw-setting machine for a saw chain, capable of efficiently performing saw setting of a saw chain by a side portion of a grinding tool turned at a high speed, the grinding tool being a tool, such as a round bar-like grinding tool or a round bar-like grinding stone, attached to the head of an electric motor. The saw setting is made with both ends of the saw chain being held in a pressing manner for a stabilized saw setting position, the holding made by a holding plate supported forward of a hand-held electric motor. In a saw setting machine body, a round shaft-like grinding tool for grinding is attached at the head of a drive shaft of a hand-held electric motor. A supporting member is projected forward of the saw setting machine body, and an installation plate is attached to a front end portion of the supporting member. The holding plate is supported in a horizontally rotatable manner such that the plate can be directed and matched to a saw set angle of cutter blades positioned with a constant width at the left and right of the saw chain. The holding plate is shaped so as to be able to straddle on an upper portion of the saw chain, has at its center an opening through which a portion being ground is visible, and is formed in an elongate shape in a direction along the saw chain. A projection portion at which a blade point is fixed to determine an accurate blade point angle is provided on the installation plate.
