Abstract:

Provided is a dispersion containing scale-shaped filmy fines which have been subjected to antisedimentation treatment. A metallic pigment using the dispersion can provide ink in which the scale-shaped filmy fines are well dispersed and which therefore can prevent nozzle clogging and yield prints rich in metallic luster. Specifically provided is a scale-shaped filmy fines dispersion which comprises a solvent and scale-shaped filmy fines contained therein, said scale-shaped filmy fines being fines prepared by grinding a simple metal, an alloy, or a metal compound, wherein the scale-shaped filmy fines have a mean length of 0.5 to 5.0μm, a maximum length of 10μm or less, a mean thickness of 5 to 100nm, and an aspect ratio of 20 or more.
