Abstract:

The embodiments of the invention relate to the technical field of communications, and specifically, to a scaling out method, device and system, capable of implementing a scaling out operation between virtualized network functions (VNF). The scaling out method comprises: receiving, by a second VNF, from a first VNF, a scaling out notification message comprising a scaling-out scale parameter of the first VNF; determining, by the second VNF, according to the scaling-out scale parameter of the first VNF and a service processing capacity of the second VNF, whether to scale out the second VNF; if it is determined to scale out the second VNF, transmitting, by the second VNF, to a VNF manager (VNFM), a scaling out request message requesting to scale out the second VNF. The first VNF and the second VNF is associated directly. The method is adopted in a network function virtualization (NFV) system.
