Abstract:

A die (28) for forming a work-piece having a complex geometry includes a die insert (84) having an interior surface (117) that defines a first portion of the complex geometry and a retainer ring (80) that selectively engages the die insert (84). The retainer ring (80) includes a circumferential interior surface (96) that defines a second portion of the complex geometry. A punch insert (82) that is slidably disposed in the retainer ring (80) and includes a surface (98) that defines a third portion of the complex geometry.
