Abstract:
A scanning endoscope comprises: a light guiding unit which guides illumination light for illuminating a subject and emits the light from a light emitting surface; an actuator unit which is provided an edge part of the light guiding unit on a light emitting side and vibrates according to application of a drive signal for scanning the subject; a first covering member which covers the edge part and the actuator unit; a holding member which is formed such that a length in a direction parallel to a longitudinal direction of the light guiding unit is a prescribed length and which is capable of holding, in cantilever relationship, a portion of the edge part including the light emitting surface and the actuator unit within an internal space of the first covering member; a second covering member which covers the first covering member; and a fixing unit which fixes the first covering member to the second covering member at a fixing position that is set within the prescribed length and is included in a plane orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the light guiding unit.
