Abstract:
Scissors comprising a pair of scissors pieces (1, 2) each composed of a blade (3, 4) and a handle (5, 6) and turnably connected to each other by a pivot (13). The respective blades (3, 4) are formed by injection molding of metallic powder, and cutting edges (21, 22) of the respective blades (3, 4) adapted to contact with each other are formed to be substantially linear as viewed from thickner sides of the respective blades (3, 4). Since the cutting edges are not brought into contact with each other against bending of the blades as in conventional scissors, the cutting edges (21, 22) present little contact resistance load to enable a light and sharp cutting work. A high hardness stock material having been hard to use in a conventional bending can be used to form the blades (3, 4), which dispense with bending and have substantially linear cutting edges (21, 22), with high precision and in large quantities.
