A screen brightness adjustment method and a screen brightness adjustment apparatus. The method comprises the following steps: acquiring the position where the maximum brightness area of visible light within a visual field range of human eyes is located; and adjusting the screen brightness according to the brightness of the position where the maximum brightness area of visible light is located and/or a size change of pupils of the human eyes. The adjustment apparatus comprises: a light sensor used for acquiring the maximum brightness of visible light within a visual field range of human eyes; a brightness analysis device used for analyzing the position where the maximum brightness area of the visible light is located, and generating a corresponding control signal according to the brightness of the position where the maximum brightness area of the visible light is located and/or a size change of pupils of the human eyes; and a brightness adjustment and control apparatus used for receiving a control signal, and adjusting the screen brightness according to the corresponding control signal. The present invention can improve the accuracy of screen brightness adjustment, and improve the watching comfort for human eyes, thereby achieving the effect of healthy eye protection.
