Specific embodiments of the invention

The frame profile according to the present invention is intended for a screen case end unit. As said, the frame profile according to the present may be used in both directions. Therefore, according to one specific embodiment of the present invention, the frame profile may be connected to a left and/or a right screen case end unit in a screen system.

Furthermore, the frame profile according to the present invention is also adapted for use with either a simpler type of wall bracket or alternatively outer mounting consoles. This is also obtained by the provision of both inner and outer mounting sockets, which is further explained below.

Moreover, the angled design of the frame profile according to the present invention may have very different appearance, such as right-angled as shown in the example in fig. 1 but also with very different angles, both above and below 90°.

Below, different specific embodiments of the present invention will be discussed. According to one specific embodiment of the present invention, the frame profile comprises a third end mounting socket on each end of the frame profile, said third end mounting socket intended for attachment to add-on profiles. Such add-on profile may e.g. be cover, cap and/or decor profiles. As may be seen in the figures, both the frame profile and possible add-on profiles may have screw holes. It should, however, be noted that also snap connections or other types are possible instead of using screws.

According to one specific embodiment of the present invention, the first outer mounting socket is provided in duplicate. There are several advantages with this configuration. This configuration is universal for ceiling and wall, which allows for many different suspensions, also strengthened suspensions where a suspension attachment locks into both outer mounting sockets.

Moreover, the configuration is feasible in applications where a ceiling support (fastener) is to be used as a wall support (fastener) instead, or vice versa.

According to a second aspect of the present invention, there is provided a screen case end unit intended for a screen system, wherein the screen case end unit comprises a frame profile according to the present invention. In relation to the expression "screen case end unit" it should be noted that the word "end" may in fact be referring to both the end of the mounted frame profile or the screen roll, or both.

According to one specific embodiment, the screen case end unit is mountable with an inner console, said inner console having a mounting end which is adapted to fit a second and inner mounting socket of the frame profile.

According to yet another specific embodiment, the inner console has a body part of which at least one side is provided with fastening means for attachment of at least one additional unit.

According to another specific embodiment, the screen case end unit comprises a frame profile, an end cap and at least one profile which is attachable to a third end mounting socket of a frame profile. The attachable at least one profile may be a so called add-on profile as disclosed above, i.e. a cover profile, a cap profile or a decor profile, or a combination thereof. In relation to the above disclosed embodiments it may be said that a screen case end unit may be mounted directly to an inner console, e.g.

without an end cap. Also a screen case end unit comprising a frame profile, an end cap, at least one profile which is attachable to a third end mounting socket of a frame profile, and also having an inner console is one possible embodiment of the present invention.

The inner console may of course have different design, but may also have different purposes. Firstly, it may be provided to hold another unit, such as the adjusting unit further discussed below. Secondly, it may function as a console, in this case meaning a support element in the entire construction, such as when no casing is provided on the ends or around the entire screen roll. This case implies that the screen roller is applied between two of the inner consoles. Thirdly, the inner console may also instead function as the end cover or end piece when a casing is adjusted to fit between two of said inner consoles. In this case profiles, such as metal profiles, possibly made of aluminium, are provided and mounted between the inner consoles. In this case, the two inner consoles function as outer end pieces.

According to one specific embodiment of the present invention, the screen case end unit also comprises a tap adapter which is mountable to a body part of the inner console. The tap adapter is mounted into the inner console, suitably into the fastening means of the inner console. The tap adapter holds the roller and screen in place when e.g. no adjusting unit, as described below, is used.

According to yet another specific embodiment, the screen case end unit also comprises an adjusting unit, suitably attachable to the fastening means of said inner console via a fastening element. According to one embodiment, the adjusting unit comprises a housing, a rotatable toothed wheel, and a toothed screw casing and a screw, for vertical adjustment of a screen by screw force which rotates the rotatable toothed wheel. As seen in the drawings, the adjusting unit may have different mounting elements (see e.g. fig. 5 showing both circular and quadratic mountings with different positions). This may be of interest to be able to adjust different kinds of taps or units which can fit the different mounting elements. One example is when different mounting types fits different roller diameters. It should further be said that the adjusting unit may constitute other devices functioning differently, i.e. without the rotatable function. For instance, the adjusting unit may comprise a screw which directly lowers or lifts a mounting part, possible only having one type of or several mounting element types, without having any rotation. In such a case, the mounting part is directly lowered or lifted when the screw is screwed clockwise/counterwise.

It should be noted that the present invention also embodies a kit comprising a frame profile and any of the other units disclosed above, where all units are provided separately to be mounted or attached to one another by the user. For instance, a kit according to the present invention may be provided as a standard screen case end unit according to the present invention together with an inner console and/or an adjusting unit.

According to a third aspect of the present invention, there is provided a screen system comprising two screen case end units according to above and a screen roll with a screen. According to yet another embodiment, wherein the screen system also comprises end caps and/or an outer cassette.

Furthermore, the present invention is in particular, but not limited to, related to motorised screen systems. Therefore, according to one specific embodiment, the screen system according to the present invention also comprises a control unit or a control box for motorised use. In this context it may be mentioned that a control box is typically arranged within the screen case, however a typically control unit in a screen system is not built-in.

According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, there is provided an improved adjusting unit for a screen system, said adjusting unit comprising a housing, a rotatable toothed wheel, and a toothed screw casing and a screw, for vertical adjustment of a screen by screw force which rotates t rotatable toothed wheel. Also in this case the adjusting unit may be provided as a kit comprising separate units which are to be mounted by the end-user. The rotatable part (see figs. 4 and 5) of the adjusting unit holds and adjusts an entire roller of a screen system when screw force is applied.

It should also be said that the present invention, and all aspects of the concept thereof, is not only possible to use in projector screen applications. Both the frame profile, the end units comprising a frame profile and at least one other profile and e.g. an inner console, and also the improved adjusting unit as such, may be used in other roller applications. Examples thereof are in sun shields or other sunshades which are possible to scroll down. Another example is roller doors used e.g. on the outside of shopping windows, and the like.

Detailed description of the drawings
