A heads-up display apparatus (100) makes a virtual image (70) of a display image (71) visible to a viewer within an eyebox (60) by projecting the display image (71) on a projection screen (91) of a windshield (90). The screen (30) used in the apparatus (100) is configured from a plurality of micromirrors (34). Each of the micromirrors (34) has a convex curve surface section (32) curving so as to cause a laser beam to widen toward the eyebox (60). The scan surface (31) of the screen (30) is formed using an array of the convex curve surface sections (32). In a cross-section intersecting the scan surface (31), the curvature of each of the adjacent convex curve surface sections (32) differs. Consequently, imperfections in brightness of the display image occurring due to laser beam interference are reduced while the simple configuration of a screen such as a microlens array is retained.
