Disclosed are a screen splicing system and video data stream processing method; in the above system, a video capture subsystem is configured to capture an original video data stream, and to output the captured original video data stream to a smooth display subsystem after the smooth display image processing mode is activated; the smooth display subsystem is connected to the video capture subsystem and is configured to receive the original video data stream from the video capture subsystem, successively conduct smooth display image processing and screen segmentation processing on the original video data stream, and to send the segmented video data stream to the screen splicing subsystem; and the screen splicing subsystem is connected to the smooth display subsystem and configured to conduct splicing processing on the segmented video data stream and send the segmented video data stream to a spliced display wall. The technical solution provided by the present invention enhances display smoothness of screen splicing and significantly improves the overall display effect of the screen splicing system.
