Abstract:
When a screw (14) is driven into materials (61, 62), into which the screw is driven, reaction of a driver bit (11) in a direction of rising is lessened to enable high-speed and secure screwing. In a screw driving method, a large pressing force of about 7 to 10 kg is employed to disengage the screw (14) from a connecting band (13) and drive the same into the materials until it reaches a predetermined depth (underside of the material 61), and a small pressing force of about 2 to 3 kg is employed to drive the screw (14) into the material (62) while rotating the same. In a screw driving device (1), a tip end of a driver bit (11) is fitted into a groove on a head of the screw (14), and the driver bit (11) is advanced to thereby disengage the fitted screw (14) from the connecting band (13). While a tip end of the screw is further driven a predetermined depth into the material (61), a main piston (26) advances the driver bit (11) with a great pressing force to drive the screw (14) a predetermined depth into the material (61). Thereafter, in order to drive the screw into the material (62), a sub-piston (27) extending centrally through the main piston (26) advances the driver bit (11) with a small pressing force. The driver bit (11) is rotated by an air motor (31).
