Abstract:
A scroll compressor according to the present invention comprises: an orbiting scroll having an orbiting wrap and performing an orbiting motion; and a fixed scroll having a fixed wrap engaged with the orbiting wrap so as to form a compression chamber comprising an intake chamber, an intermediate pressure chamber, and a discharge chamber, wherein the wrap thickness of the fixed wrap is formed to be thicker than the wrap thickness of the orbiting wrap in a range in which the intake chamber is formed, such that the fixed wrap is restricted from being deformed at an intake side, although the fixed scroll or the orbiting scroll is thermally expanded, so as to prevent or minimize the widening of the fixed wrap and the orbiting wrap at the opposite side thereof, thereby enabling compression efficiency to be increased.
