Abstract:
Provided is a scroll compressor having: a first compression mode in which fluid is compressed between the inward-facing surface of the spiral tooth of a stationary scroll and the outward-facing surface of the spiral tooth of an orbiting scroll and between the outward-facing surface of the spiral tooth of the stationary scroll and the inward-facing surface of the spiral tooth of the orbiting scroll; and a second compression mode in which the amount of rotation of the orbiting scroll relative to the stationary scroll is greater than in the first compression mode to cause the gap between the outward-facing surface of the spiral tooth of the stationary scroll and the inward-facing surface of the spiral tooth of the orbiting scroll to increase, thereby causing fluid to be compressed between the inward-facing surface of spiral tooth of the stationary scroll and the outward-facing surface of the spiral tooth of the orbiting scroll.
