Abstract:
Provided is a scroll compressor using R32 or carbon dioxide as a refrigerant, the scroll compressor being provided with a closed container, an electric motor which is accommodated within the closed container, and a compression mechanism (10) having a stationary scroll (12) having a stationary spiral wrap, the compression mechanism (10) also having an orbiting scroll (13) having an orbiting spiral wrap engaged with the stationary spiral wrap. The scroll compressor is further provided with: a compression chamber (15) constituted of the stationary spiral wrap and the orbiting spiral wrap; a suction passage (21) formed in the stationary scroll (12); and a suction liner (3) for introducing a refrigerant into the compression chamber (15) from the outside of the closed container and inserted in the suction passage (21). The end of the suction liner (3), which is located on the inlet side of the compression chamber (15), is disposed either at the same position as the end of the suction passage (21), which is located on the inlet side of the compression chamber (15), or at a position between the end of the suction passage (21), which is located on the inlet side of the compression chamber (15), and the position at which the orbiting spiral wrap starts, the orbiting spiral wrap forming the compression chamber (15).
