Abstract:
This scroll compressor comprises a fixed scroll with a helical scroll lap protruding from a fixed base plate, and an orbiting scroll with a helical scroll lap protruding from an orbiting base plate, the scroll laps engaging with each other. The scroll compressor has a compression chamber formed between the fixed scroll and the orbiting scroll. The compression chamber suctions a gas to be compressed from the outer end of the respective scroll laps. As the orbiting scroll executes an orbital motion relative to the fixed scroll, the volume of the compression chamber is reduced gradually from the outer side toward the inner side. The gas to be compressed that has been compressed is discharged from the inner end of the respective scroll laps. The interior of the scroll lap of at least one of the fixed scroll and the orbiting scroll is provided with a circulation portion for circulating the gas to be compressed that has been discharged from the compression chamber. The circulation portion is formed so as to have a greater volume on the outer side than a volume on the inner side. In this way, it is possible, with a simple configuration, to make uniform the amount of thermal expansion of the scroll laps as a whole and to suppress leakage of gas to be compressed in a compression chamber.
