Abstract:
A scroll expander capable of providing high efficiency in wide operating conditions by suppressing a leakage loss and the lowering of a recovery power by a simple structure. The scroll expander comprises an expanding mechanism (5) having a swing scroll (52) and a first fixed scroll (51) and expanding a refrigerant to recover a power and a sub compressing mechanism (6) having a swing scroll (62) and a second fixed scroll (61) and compressing the refrigerant with the power recovered by the expanding mechanism (5). Tip seals are fitted only to the spiral teeth of the swing scroll and the fixed scroll of either of the expanding mechanism (5) and the sub compressing mechanism (6).
