Abstract:
Provided is a scroll fluid machine which inhibits contact between a tip seal and step parts formed in tooth bottom corners. A tip seal groove (3d) is formed in a tooth tip of a fixed scroll, and a tip seal (7) is accommodated therein. Step parts (9a) are provided in tooth bottom corners (9) of bases of walls (5b) of an orbiting scroll (5), said tooth bottom corners facing tooth tip corners (8) of a wall (3b) of the fixed scroll. The tip seal groove (3d) is formed further towards the centre of the wall (3b) in the thickness direction than positions which face the step parts (9a). In other words, the bank width (Ta) of the tooth tip of the wall (3b) is greater than the width (Sw) of each of the step parts (9a).
