Abstract:
Provided is a scroll type fluid machine (1) in which a spiral portion (50, 52) and an end plate (8a, 10a) are brought into sliding contact with each other, via a tip seal (56, 58) provided on the spiral portion, between stationary and movable scrolls (8, 10) to thereby define a working fluid pressure chamber (60) that is formed between the spiral portions. The spiral portion of at least one of the scrolls has a back rib (72, 82) between an end face (68, 78) to be engaged with the tip seal for the spiral portion and a back face (70, 80) of the tip seal. The back rib is deformed so as to push the tip seal of the one scroll against the end plate of the other scroll when the spiral portion and the end plate are brought into sliding contact with each other between the stationary and movable scrolls.
