Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a seal device that provides excellent sealability without an excessive amount of movement. Provided is a seal device 10 that seals a space between a housing 3 and a rotary shaft 2, the seal device 10 comprising sealing members 11, 12 and a holder 13 that has a cylindrical shape and is to be press-fitted into a bore 30 of the housing 3 while holding the sealing members 11, 12, wherein the holder 13 has, on one end thereof, a protruding section 13c that protrudes radially outwardly from the holder 13; the housing 3 has a tapered section 31 that is annularly formed on one end of the bore 30 and is for guiding the holder 13 to be inserted into the bore; and the protruding section 13c is formed so as to be positioned radially inside of the tapered section 31.
