Abstract:

Provided is a seal ring exhibiting enhanced durability under environment in which sliding occurs and high-pressure operating oil is supplied. An annular seal ring 40 is disposed between a first member 20 and a second member 24 which is inserted into the first member 20 and which reciprocates axially relative to the first member 20, and the seal ring 40 seals the gap between the first member 20 and the second member 24. The seal ring 40 has: an annular base section 70, the radially outer end of which is in contact with the first member 20; an annular front end section 72 which is connected integrally to the radially inner side of the base section 70 and which is in contact with the second member 24; and a thick-walled protrusion section 74 which is connected integrally to the front end section 72 and which protrudes further in the axial direction of the second member 24 than the base section 70.
