Abstract:
A seal ring formed of an elastic resin material or a rubber material is provided with: a pair of side surfaces; a pair of inclined surfaces; and a sliding surface. The pair of side surfaces extends in the radial direction and is parallel to each other. The pair of inclined surfaces extends in the radial direction from end parts of the pair of side surfaces, and the pair of inclined surfaces is brought closer to each other the greater the distance from the pair of side surfaces. The sliding surface connects the end parts of the pair of inclined surfaces, and protrudes in the radial direction. The seal ring is thin toward the sliding surface by providing the inclined surfaces. For this reason, the seal ring is easily compression-deformed in the radial direction. As such, the seal ring is capable of keeping small the pressing force against a slid surface, even after securing sealability by sufficiently compression-deforming in the radial direction. In this manner, in the seal ring, friction with the slid surface is reduced.
