Abstract:
A seal ring (11) wherein a ring body (11), which is mounted in a mounting groove (22) provided on one of two members, for example, a rotary shaft (21) and a housing (31) that are assembled so as to be capable of relative displacement with respect to each other, is provided with a contact section (12) that makes contact with the other of the two members, and a cut section (14) that separates the ring body (11) at one location along the circumference thereof. In order to eliminate shape under-correction occurring at a location in the vicinity of the cut section (14), and to reduce the size of the gap generated between the seal ring (11) and the other component during mounting, thinned structures (15) are provided only at locations in the vicinity of the cut section (14), in the outer surface of the ring body (11) other than the location of the contact section (12).
