Abstract:
A seal segment (11) comprises: a seal body (13) having a plurality of thin-plate seal pieces (20) that extend at an incline relative to forward in a rotational direction (Bc) of a rotating shaft as the pieces draw farther inward in the diametral direction of the rotating shaft, and that are layered in a circumferential direction (Dc) of the rotating shaft; a pair of side plates (25) extending in the circumferential direction (Dc) so as to cover the seal body (13) from both sides with respect to an axial direction (Da) of the rotating shaft; and a housing (30) having a housing main body (34) that accommodates the seal body (13) while allowing the seal body (13) to protrude inward in the diametral direction (Dr), and an extending part (35) that is provided to an end part of the housing main body (34) in the circumferential direction (Dc), and that extends inward in the diametral direction (Dr) along an end surface of the seal body (13) in the circumferential direction (Dc).
