Abstract:
A seal structure is provided with: a cylinder head cover which is mounted to a cylinder head, has an insertion groove provided in a portion of the cylinder head cover, the portion facing a surface to be sealed, and has sloped sections formed on the groove bottom at positions on both sides of the center part of the groove bottom and having a depth gradually decreasing from the center part toward the groove walls; a gasket which is inserted in the insertion groove and which is configured so that, when the cylinder head cover has been mounted, an end of the gasket is in contact with the center part and an end is in contact with the surface to be sealed, causing the gasket to be in a compressed state, and so that, in the compressed state, the maximum width section of an insertion section is in contact with both the groove walls and gaps are formed between the insertion groove and the side surfaces of the insertion section; and a protrusion which is provided on the end side of the gasket, protrudes in the width direction, and is disposed between an edge of the insertion groove and the surface to be sealed.
